Citrus aurantium

This exquisite oil is distilled from the little flowers of the bitter orange or Seville orange tree. It is a thick essential oil and brownish in colour, with a bitter-sweet aroma.
It is a lovely gently sedative oil and has antidepressant, tranquilizing, relaxing properties. A few drops in a warm bath before bedtime usually helps towards peaceful sleep. Adding four to six drops to 20ml massage oil will help for anxiety and nervous tension. Rub the oil into the shoulders, neck, temples and even into the scalp. A foot massage with Neroli is also deeply relaxing. To help with shock and stress, add two drops to a burner or vapouriser in the room.

Neroli has antispasmodic properties and is therefore very helpful for colitis and intestinal spasms. Add a drop of Neroli and a drop of Black Pepper to 5ml Grape-seed or Sweet Almond oil and massage in a clockwise motion into the abdomen.

Neroli is really beneficial in skincare as it helps stimulate the growth of healthy new cells. It helps lighten scars, prevent stretch marks, and generally rejuvenates the skin.
Neroli also has strong antibacterial and disinfectant properties, helping with any skin infections or breakouts.

Neroli blends beautifully with Benzoin, Bergamot, Black Pepper, Geranium, Jasmine, Lavender, Palmarosa, Petitgrain, Rose, Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang.
